AOL Cavaye Place
AOL is the largest Internet provider in the world. Tricad have been in close contact with AOL since they set up part of their business in the UK 10 years ago. Our first project for them was to install a data network into their new premises at Cavaye Place in London this had a raised floor and a false ceiling but had wings on differing levels.
TRICAD carried out the following:-
The building was approx 1,700m2.
Occupancy of 100 people.
Design of the building infrastructure.
Installation of 700 ITT Cat 5 low smoke cables.
Installation of Backbone fibre between floors.
Installation of 12 Comms cabinets.
Telephone links to a Meridian Telephone system.
Installation of all the Electrical services.
Construction of the comms rooms.
Installation of audio visual equipment to their board rooms.
Fit out of the entire building including carpets, walls and all services.
AOL Fulham Road
Our second project for AOL was to design an additional office for them in Fulham road. This project was slightly more complicated with only a false ceiling to run all the services. The project was carried out using a continuous basket and surface mounted perimeter 3 compartment trunking.
The building was approx 480 m2.
Occupancy of 40 people.

AOL Hammersmith Broadway
With the incorporation of CompuServe and Netscape, AOL now found the need to relocate their three premises into one. Once the building had been found, Tricad and AOL worked together to establish the design of the building and the IT requirements. AOL's requirements were to have the most cost effective and future proof network solution available at that time. Tricad took on the task and found that ITT's ICSS product was giving the best solution. The product is designed to go beyond Gigabit Ethernet with a bandwidth of 200Mhz as well as being shielded eliminating any cross talk contamination.
The cabling was a total end to end solution with the building cabling coming up into the desk into a purpose built nomadic unit supplied by our Delta department.
The project also involved the construction of a comms room with all associated services for a 24 hour computer room. On this project space was a premium in the office area, therefore the comms room could not be as big as we wanted and had to use the front and the back of the comms cabinets for building wiring and hardware.
Tricad also carried out the full relocation from three buildings into one over one bank holiday weekend, which involved Relocating 500 PC's and people, changing IP addresses, Patching and reassigning printers.

Saudi Arabian Airways London HQ
Saudi Arabian Airways were looking to relocate to a new building in Victoria, and had already appointed Tricad to supply furniture and carry out a major Design and Build project to fit out the interior of the office. SAA were also looking to modernise their existing IT infrastructure, with the installation of new network switched, servers and desktop hardware.
TRICAD recommended two NT servers, one to handle file and print requirements, and the other to support their e-mail function. We installed and configured MS-Exchange, and setup the PC client using MS Outlook.
In addition to monthly on site IT Support, we provide remote support via secure dial-in, and attend site for ad-hoc visits. This provides SAA with a cost effective and flexible means of managing their ever-growing IT investment.
